Collaborations Forged with ICAO, Certis CISCO and Training Institutions in China and Trinidad & Tobago
SAA has forged further collaboration with partners from Singapore as well as overseas, with four Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) in training collaboration being sealed recently.
On 9 February 2014, a new MOU on cooperation in leadership and management training was concluded between Singapore and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The MOU was signed by the Singapore Minister for Transport, Mr Lui Tuck Yew and President of the Council of ICAO, Dr Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu at the Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit 2014 dinner held at the Raffles City Convention Centre. The MOU provides an overarching framework for collaboration between SAA/CAAS and ICAO on the development and organisation of leadership and management training for aviation leaders, senior management and professionals.
On the opening day of the Singapore Airshow 2014 on 11 February 2014, DG, CAAS signed an MOU with Mr Ramesh Lutchmedial, DG, Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) on training cooperation. Under this MOU, TTCAA’s training arm - Civil Aviation Training Centre, will host and facilitate training programmes developed by SAA for participants from Trinidad and Tobago and other States in the Caribbean region.
Two days later, on 13 February 2014, an MOU between CAAS and Certis CISCO Security Pte Ltd was signed by DG, CAAS and Mr Paul Chong, President and CEO of Certis CISCO. This MOU establishes a general working arrangement between Certis CISCO and SAA to facilitate and jointly implement training and development in aviation security, to strengthen aviation security capabilities in Singapore and in the region.
In addition, an MOU was signed with Capital Airports Holdings Management Co Ltd (CAHM) of China to collaborate in the design and implementation of training programmes, conferences and seminars, and research projects in areas of mutual interest. SAA will collaborate with the Capital Airports Management Academy (CAMA), the training unit of CAHM, to provide training for Chinese officers from subsidiary airports of Capital Airports Holding Company. The MOU was signed between D(SAA) and Ms Hu Guang, Dean, CAMA.
