The School of Aviation Management provides strategic management programmes to keep mid to top-level executives updated on global trends and developments in specialised fields ranging from airport management and engineering to air law and air transport.

The School of Aviation Safety and Security conducts a wide spectrum of specialised programmes on safety management, safety oversight, surveillance and auditing, accident and incident investigation as well as aviation security.

Training Endorsed by ICAO
As a Regional Training Centre of Excellence, the School conducts ICAO Training Packages and ICAO Compliant Training Packages. As an Aviation Security Training centre, aviation security courses leverage on the Aviation Security Training Packages and workshops developed by ICAO.

The School has an international panel of aviation safety and security experts, aeromedical professionals and aviation psychologists with extensive domain knowledge and experience.
Local experts, including instructors from CAAS with many years of operational and practical regulatory experience, complement the international experts. Together, these experts develop and deliver programmes which provide both fundamental knowledge and updates on new developments in their respective disciplines.
The School of Air Traffic Services offers a wide range of courses in air traffic management and specialised subjects suitable for controllers, airspace planners and air traffic managers.
Training is supported by a suite of customised state-of-the-art equipment, simulating real-life environments. Best practices in air traffic management, safety audits and human factors are shared through its management programmes while specialised programmes include PANS-OPS instrument procedures design.
Practical Approach to Training
Our approach of practical and personalised training is delivered by instructors who are operationally qualified. Practical training constitutes 75% of the total instructional time. Instructor-participant ratio is maintained at 1:1 for practical exercises. To ensure that their professional skills are kept up-to-date, instructors are regularly rotated between the School and the operational units of CAAS.
While 95% of the total instructional time is met by national instructors drawn from CAAS, overseas and local experts are also invited to provide insights on the latest trends and developments in air traffic services.
To provide realistic training, the School is equipped with advanced ATC simulators and other training facilities. They include the Aerodrome Control Simulator, Surveillance Simulator, and Procedural Simulator. To find out more about the ATC simulators, please click here.
The School of Airport Emergency Services specialises in aircraft rescue, fire protection and emergency management for both civil and military airports, as well as airports industrial fire safety.
Participants are given first-hand experience in handling emergencies using advanced fire training simulators, learning from instructors who are all practising fire-fighting and rescue professionals.
For most of the AES courses, hands-on, true-to-life simulated exercises make up over 70% of the training. Class size is kept small to ensure personalised attention and safety at all times during training.
Learn from the Experts
To continuously update their professional skills, instructors are rotated between the School and the operational units of the Changi Airport Group (CAG). Besides using instructors drawn from CAG, renowned overseas and local experts are also invited to provide updates on the latest trends and developments on airport emergency and safety skills.
Fire Training Simulators
A comprehensive range of fire simulators is designed to fully test the fire-fighting and safety skills of participants. Some of the simulators include the Enhanced Airport Foam Tender Driving Simulator, the Breathing Apparatus Simulator, the Confined Space Simulator, and a dedicated Fire Training Ground.
