Launch of the Master of Business Administration in Aviation
On the evening of 14 January 2011, about 60 aviation professionals gathered in SAA to celebrate the launch of the Master of Business Administration in Aviation (MBAA) degree programme. This MBAA will be conducted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in association with SAA.
The first run of MBAA will be admitting 21 students, who are aviation professionals from different sectors of the aviation industry including the airlines, aerospace companies, civil aviation authorities and institutes of higher learning. The programme has been well-received with 44 potential applicants vying for the limited intake numbers.
In his welcome address, Mr Yap Ong Heng, Director-General, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, commented that the CAAS is confident that this new programme will further enhance the wide range of quality training programmes available in SAA and Singapore as the MBAA has been tailored to meet the demands of the dynamic aviation industry. The management training provided through the MBAA will be useful for the overall development of aviation professionals, and prepare them to take on leadership positions.
